We’re here to share inspiration, guidance, and real experiences from women who are just like you!
On this blog, get ready to find opportunities, advice, and insights that will help you grow personally and professionally! Our goal is to provide you with the tools and confidence to make the most of your college experience.
For our first topic, we’re highlighting our incredible PHC women who are involved in clubs, organizations, and sports. They are living proof that being in a sorority helps you accomplish amazing things! Getting involved in your college career builds connections, develops skills, and helps you discover your passions—especially when you can learn from women who have already paved the way in the community.
If you’re looking to get involved but don’t know where to start, we encourage you to explore below and connect with these amazing women here to help you succeed!
Student Engagement and Philanthropy
LSU Student Government is a great way to get involved and make an impact! Through the executive, judicial, and legislative branches, students can join the Senate, Senior College Councils, or the SG Court. SG is a great way to learn about campus policy, especially if you’re passionate about creating change or pursuing leadership roles in the future! If you’re interested, follow @lsusg on Instagram for updates on upcoming applications, events, and more.Kappa Delta junior Anna Katherine Harrell was recently elected LSU Student Government Vice President for the 2026–2027 school year! “This role represents so much more than a title. This is a responsibility and a privilege to continue serving others. Being involved has taught me that real change starts with simply deciding to care and to act. More than anything, it’s inspired me to encourage others to get involved, because some of the most meaningful parts of college come from being part of something bigger than yourself.”
Ever notice the adorable butter yellow polos around campus? Those are LSU Ambassadors! This student-led organization represents and promotes a positive image of LSU, growing leaders who serve on and off the campus community. Ambassadors are passionate about service, leadership, and building meaningful connections beyond LSU. If interested, applications open every fall, and all students are encouraged to apply! This year’s president is Phi Mu member Nicole Carter, who says, “Being in this role has given me the opportunity to represent a university I truly love, connect with incredible people, and help create meaningful experiences through an organization that goes above and beyond when it comes to service and leadership. I'm grateful every day to lead such a passionate group. Geaux AMB!”
Need service hours for your sorority or club, or just want to make an impact? The Student Philanthropy Council (SPC) is your go-to! SPC members are students who promote philanthropy across LSU while giving back to the community; they play a huge role in representing our campus. This year, they successfully partnered with LSU’s Food Pantry and annual Giving Day initiative to expand their impact even further. Former president of SPC and Chi Omega member, Avery McLaughlin, shares, “I’ve loved every second of supporting initiatives that improve students’ well-being, serving the LSU and Baton Rouge communities, and educating others on the value of service and philanthropy. It’s truly beautiful to be a part of something so much greater than yourself, and I’m forever grateful.” Applications open each fall and spring for new members! Follow @spclsu on Instagram for updates and opportunities on their application!
Education and Academics
If you’ve ever dreamed of turning your love for animals into something bigger, the LSU Pre-Veterinary Club is the perfect place for you! It’s a great way to connect with others, explore the veterinary field, and gain hands-on experience. Follow @prevetlsu on Instagram for more information on meetings and how to join! Annie Elee, a member of Pi Beta Phi, is this year's Vice President! “My personal goal in serving as VP is to help prepare our members for applying to vet school, what to expect in vet school, and pique their interests in different fields of veterinary medicine. In this past year, we have boosted our club participation by almost 50%—an accomplishment I am beyond excited to contribute to!” Sigma Alpha Member, McKenzie Jacobson, shares that “Joining the Pre-Vet club has been an incredible experience! It's a supportive community where we share our passion for animal care and learn valuable skills that prepare us for future careers. Kappa Alpha Theta member Gabreyela Gonzalez shares, “SWE has given me opportunities to grow as a leader, serve others, and connect with so many incredible people in engineering. I am very blessed and grateful to be surrounded by such sincere, fun, and understanding people. SWE has truly been one of those spaces that reminds me how special it is to be surrounded by people who uplift one another, which is something I have also found so deeply in Panhellenic.”
If you’re dreaming of a future in dentistry, Global Dental Brigades is the perfect organization to join! They are dedicated to providing accessible dental care to underserved communities while helping students grow as future healthcare professionals. Through service, fundraising, and outreach, members work to make an impact both locally and globally. Alpha Phi member Grace Smith encourages everyone to join because “it’s such a unique way to combine service, leadership, and sisterhood while also gaining real-world experience in healthcare. Getting involved is easy, just attend one of our meetings, follow us on social media, or reach out to a member to learn more about upcoming events and mission opportunities!”
The LSU Pre-Nursing Club helps students prepare for nursing school through application and HESI guidance, networking opportunities, and early exposure to the healthcare field. After being inactive for a year, the organization was recently rebuilt with support from PHC women into a strong, welcoming community for future nurses! Brea Marx, an Alpha Delta Pi member, currently serves as Vice President, and her goal is to “help prepare our members for applying to nursing school, understand what to expect once they get there, and encourage them to explore the many different paths within the nursing profession. It has been incredibly rewarding to help rebuild this community and support future healthcare leaders.”
Sports and Athletics
LSU Batgirls are the precious behind-the-scenes girls at Alex Box Stadium who help with all game-day operations. They’re an essential part of the LSU baseball experience, always bringing energy and support to the team! If you’re interested, every fall they send out the application process for new Batgirls, and make sure you follow their instagram @lsubatgirls for more info! Krista Lara, a Delta Zeta sophomore, is honored to be a part of it! “All of the Batgirls truly love LSU baseball and have a passion for it, so it’s fun cheering on the Tigers from the home dugout, picking up homerun bats, and watching the players get so excited and hyped when something awesome happens during the game. If it weren’t for this program, I never would have met these girls or had the opportunity to make new friends who all share the same love for baseball as I do.”
It’s hard to give up sports for many women who have played nearly their entire lives. Teams such as LSU Women’s Lacrosse are a fun and welcoming way to stay active, meet new people, and be part of a sports team during your college time! Zeta Tau Alpha member, Emma Kate Jolly, shares, “Being a part of the LSU Women’s Lacrosse team has allowed me to stay active with my bestest friends! From traveling across the US to trying out a new play, it’s always a fun experience! Girls with or without past lacrosse experience are welcome and involved on the team, and I would encourage anyone to come out to the field and join us!” If interested, you can join by filling out the interest form on their Instagram @lsuwomenslacrosse!

Dance Ambassadors at LSU is a student-run organization offering weekly dance classes every Monday night in the Music & Dramatic Arts Building. Dancers rotate through styles like tap, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, lyrical, and musical theater! It’s a great way to stay active, de-stress, meet new people, and even audition for performance opportunities each semester. Delta Gamma member Jackie Caldwell shares that “Classes are $3 per class or $20 for unlimited classes per semester and are designed to be flexible so members can attend when their schedule allows.” If you’re interested, contact @lsudanceambassdors on Instagram for more info!
The Golden Girls of LSU are a renowned dance group who perform with the Golden Band at LSU football games! Many PHC women are involved, including Tri Delta senior Kelsey Keiser, who shared that “being on Golden Girls has meant so much to me and has been such a big part of my college experience. I’ve loved getting to do what I love while representing LSU. It has also given me lifelong friendships and memories that I will cherish forever. From behind the scenes to game days, Golden Girls has given me a deeper appreciation for LSU and made these past four years so memorable. I am extremely grateful for my time on Golden Girls and wouldn’t trade it for the world!” If you’re interested in auditioning or learning more, registration information can be found under the College of Music & Dramatic Arts page on the LSU website!
There may be 13 different sororities, but at the end of the day, there is one Panhellenic community. One of PHC’s core values is community involvement, and the connections you build within this community empower you to explore new horizons, deepen your involvement, and create meaningful memories across campus. Getting involved in student clubs and organizations is one of the best ways to make the most of your time here at LSU!
No matter where or when you start, what matters most is finding what inspires you! We hope this blog encourages you to take that next step and reminds you that you are always supported within our community!
