What do Finances look like?
As a sorority member, you will be required to pay dues to your chapter each semester. Every chapter’s dues are different, but all cover a few basic costs. These include new member fees, dues, national fees, house usage fees, and sometimes, meals. Each sorority is a little bit different, and you can find more information on each chapter’s costs at the link below.
Click here to view our finances chart. The chart includes an estimated cost for each chapter with additional details. You will learn more about how to pay your dues if and when you join your specific chapter. Each one has a different process regarding how dues are paid each semester, and they will walk you through it!

What is the Greek 8 Meal Plan and how does it work?
If you are a first-year student living on-campus, you are required to select a meal plan. However, if at the end of sorority Recruitment, you pledge a chapter which requires a meal plan within the organization, your existing LSU Dining plan can be reduced to the Greek 8, which includes 8 Meal Swipes per week and $350 in Paw Points, for a total cost of $1,520. Please note that LSU Dining plans cannot be canceled, only adjusted.
The Sierra Frazier Scholarship
Though the costs of being a sorority member may be a reason why women do not choose to join, know that scholarship opportunities are available to active Panhellenic women. Many chapters provide members with scholarships both at the local and national levels. While scholarships are not guaranteed, they are a great way to reduce costs associated with being a sorority woman.
The Panhellenic Council created the Sierra Frazier Scholarship to honor Sierra Frazier, an LSU Delta Gamma that passed away in October of 2021 from a long-term medical condition. Its intent is to provide the best sorority experience for new members of all backgrounds and life experiences.
LSU Panhellenic will award the Sierra Frazier scholarship to a select number of new members across the Panhellenic community. The scholarship's intended use is for chapter dues, including new member fees, and will be awarded on need-based criteria. The recipients will be chosen by the Panhellenic Executive Council members through a blind selection process. The 2025 application will be released soon!
